Descriptions for CNA Program
This is a 120-hour Nursing Assistant course in preparation for the Arizona State Board Nursing Assistant certification test. The program is scheduled as a 4/6-week course inclusive of 50 hours of Classroom & 30 hours of Skills in a lab setting and 20 hours of Clinical experience at neighboring skilled / Long Term Care facilities and 20 hours in Honor Health Deer Valley Hospital **. Programs are available Morning & Evenings and Weekends.
Monday through Wednesday, day shift, 9 am-2 pm, Thursday 8am-4:30pm Skills only(4 weeks in class and one week in the facility) Monday through Wednesday 4 pm-9 pm Thursday 8am-4:30 pm Skills only (4 weeks in class and one week in the facility) and Weekend program Saturday / Sunday from 7:30 am to 4 pm. (6 weeks in class and two weeks in the facility)
Description for Advanced CNA Program
AZTTI is pleased to offer the Advanced Placement Nursing Assistant Program approved by the Arizona Board of Nursing. The Program is designed to prepare students who have previous direct patient care experience to be eligible to sit for the Nursing Assistant certification (C.N.A.) examination through the Arizona State Board of Nursing.
Programs are available weekdays, Monday through Friday, day shift, 9 am-3 pm
Advanced placement is limited to students with at least 1 year of full-time or 2-year part-time employment (totaling 2080 hours) in the direct provision of health care within the past 5 years, or students who have successfully completed coursework that included direct patient care experiences in allied health, medicine or nursing in the past 5 years. Students will be required to have the Verification of Direct Patient Care Experience form completed,as well other documents required for program only.
Maricopa Community Colleges and any Private Colleges in the state of Arizona requirements for RN Program:
New change starting at the end of 2021. If you are applying to an RN program at Maricopa Community College, please be aware that all applications submitted on and after December 23, 2021, will require the completion of a Nurse Assistant (NA) course. You will need to have a current Nurse Assistant certification (CNA) as a requirement for application.
Completing the CNA program and passing the State Board exam will give you the license needed to meet the RN and LPN program prerequisite.
